Wet roads + downhill + highspeed =
I took away these lovely souvenirs from todays IF Road Ride at the Bicycle Escape. Worst part was I was on Tom’s custom IF when it happened. Luckily the bike came away unscathed with the exception of some scraped up bar tape. The crash ocurred when myself , Mehdi and Matt Bracken (IF Pres) were descending a tad too fast on todays ride.
I’m beginning to think I need a new nickname. I’m tired of Grumpy-J and well my bodies getting somewhat tired of living up to Crashmore.
On the bright side I figure how often does one get the chance to wreck when riding with the likes of Matt Bracken? I’ll do a full ride report tomorow.

Yeah today’s crash could have been a lot worse had you fallen in a worse way and/or I had gone over the guard rail. Thankfully we were all able to walk away today to ride again. All-in-all, it was a great ride despite the crash and it was nice to finally meet the man behind the great bikes.
I’m guessing “Superman” might not be what you had in mind?
Pete
While I’m at it, I might as well REALLY try and piss you off.
Would the nickname “Sir Isaac Newton” be too high-brow for you?
From Wikipedia:
“Sir Isaac Newton, FRS (4 January 1643 – 31 March 1727) [OS: 25 December 1642 – 20 March 1727] was an English physicist, mathematician, astronomer, alchemist, and natural philosopher who is generally regarded as one of the greatest scientists and mathematicians in history. Newton wrote the Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, in which he described universal gravitation and the three laws of motion, laying the groundwork for classical mechanics.”
You seem to be doing a pretty good job of proving the theory of universal gravitation and the three laws of motion. You’re definitely laying the groundwork for classical mechanics.
Love,
Pete
Maybe just Crash and Rash (as in road rash) – I haven’t actually seen or heard of you burning yet….
